    after cutting a skirt in the trees 2 years ago this plant appeared. First thought it was a rose but no flowers have appeared in the last 2 years. Before I attack it thought I'd better know what it is. Suggestions welcome as well as guesses

    Looks like an elder. If it's in the way, you can cut it back as hard as you like, they're as tough as old boots.

    If it's not in the way, leave it and it when it gets bigger it will produce large creamy white flowers followed by berries in late summer. Good for insects and for birds.
