Me either, really, but the leaves recall Kerria japonica and Lantana

I haven't got a clue but I can eliminate Kerria japonica from this as it has opposite leaves.See pics 1 and 2.
        Mystery plant has alternate.

Lantana has opposite leaves .see pic 3.4.5.6
Is it now hot enough in Surrey for this to flower and produce seeds?
I have only seen it growing in hot countries

Thanks, it's not here in Surrey but in Yorkshire and being treated as a house plant. I haven't got much information just a photo from my great niece and am assuming this is in her new student digs. It looks pretty healthy.

            Lantana looks the best candidate.

If its Lantana it will stink when you rub the leaves, bit like cat's pee.
The growth habit doesn't look like Lantana to me unless its because its not getting enough daylight/sunshine.
