Got these out of a tub of what looked to be dying plants but they sprung back to life and compared to the state they were in I am amazed.

And I think this is my little girls "faerie tree"-she leaves her letters to them under it. I think it is a willow of some sort but don`t know which kind.

And lastly excusing the dodgy cameraman what is this-please don`t say weed I know that already, but it looked so pretty I have left it. Trouble is what is it-a vetch? or a kind of willowherb? Can`t find anything in my collins wildflower that looks anything like it and am intrigued

    Hello lollipop,

I think the first one looks like Helichrysum Silver - Licorice Plant. Usually sold as a basket plant.

    :thumb: Hi Lollipop,
I agree with Beki on the first one Helichrysum... ;) Sorry Peter..

The weeping tree looks a bit like A Kilmarnock Willow.

    Don't know about red one.

& the last could be a Moon daisy aka Ox Eye Daisy.:)

Marley, I suspect you are right on the Helichrysum - I have never grown it.

And you are probably right on the Ox Eye daisey too - Leucanthemum vulgare. I said Leucanthemum superbum, which is normally what you see in gardens. I thought it was a small and weedy specimen and Leucanthemum vulgare is the wild flower relation, which probably seeded itself.

:) Well to be honest Peter the last one could easily be either, the Ox Eye or the Shasta I suppose really, it is hard to tell when they appear self seeded like that...:)

    Hi All,

Thanks again, I am rubbish at id-ing stuff.

Just had a quick flick through a wild flower book I picked up today-maybe the red plant is a spear leaved willowherb?

I know its mad going so obsessive about what looks like a weed but i thought it was pretty so left it alone.

i don`t weed all that often because I like this sort if stuff-that and freebies from the bird doings.

:thumb: Nice one Claire... :D Always nice to let Mother Nature & the birds have a hand in what you grow... Some of our wild flowers are so pretty, you actually like having them pop up... As good as a cultivated plant any day...:D

;):D After all aren't all plants weeds or all weeds plants...!!!;):D I know I know... we don't want all of them as some are real bullies...!!!!!:D
