Id please

    Hi, i was given this periennal by my neighbour. i have no idea what it is neither does she all i know is it has pink flowers in the summer.
    Does anyone know what it is?

    Hard to see but it might be lythrum salicaria, which grows about 3' tall and has spires of pink flowers. It's a self-seeding wild type of plant but it gives a lot of colour in late summer and I really like it.
