ideas for planting??

hi all

i need a few ideas for my planting if you may

i've got the base of my garden in place, see here:-

but i'm struggling what to plant with what i've already started with (namely phormiums, ferns, canary island palms). the raised bed at the back left is what i'm starting with, so i need some ideas and/or inspiration on what to put with them.

the criteria i'm looking for is that it will work with the above, have some colour in spring summer and maybe autumn, fairly hardy, reasonably inexpensive and have structure. i want this bit of the garden to have a mainly exotic theme, as there will be other parts of the garden that will have traditional elements as time goes on, in the way of annuals and perennials.

i'm open to anything new, and i do love lillies, so any types that can be incorporated without looking out of place in an exotic(ish)part of the garden would be splendid.
