    Hi all
Does anyone know a good website that has piccys of veg seedlings so I can identifying when they are growing as opposed to weeds growing?
I also have some propagating in the greenhouse and as I rather foolishly mixed some soil from the garden in with the compost I am now not sure what is growing...the seeds or the weeds!!!!
I guess its a lesson learnt anyway!
all help would be gratefully received.

Hahhahaha.. that'll teach you... always use clean compost for seedlings... not only does it avoid this problem, but garden soils might contain nasties which could affect wee seedlings!

I can't help with the identification.. except to say.. logically, the weeds will be the same few species in all the pots... the sown ones will only be one type to a pot... therefore the different ones in each pot are the veg!... does that make sense! ... I think that means, if you look closely, if the same type appears in all the pots... they must be the weeds.

...or make a new pot of just the comtaminated compost... with no veg..... and see what comes up.. they are the weeds!

I'm sure if you make a list of what you've sown.. someone here (with more time than me) will do photos of theirs

You can always wait for them to grow past the two leaf stage (as most seedlings are difficult to distinguish at the two leaf stage) and then post photos on here. Of course, if you put just one veggie seed in a pot and there are a lot of seedlings then you will be able to work it out.

Although you should wait till at least four leaves are showing Murphy's Law says that the stronger growing seedlings will be weeds. :hehe: :rotfl:
