    Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and gardening 'proper' so any help given would be greatly appreciated.

I've been in my current house since April and it's the first time I've had a decent sized garden. I've been adding my own stuff and also removing some stuff I don't like, is dead or out of control.

As I'm pretty much a novice I don't really know what any of the trees or plants are. I'd really like to find out, so that I know how to look after them properly, what to expect in the future and to help my garden design/planning.

Are there any sights or is there an area of this site where I could post photos of my specimens for others to then identify?

Also with regard to shrubs and trees is there any way to find out the root spread of established trees and I don't want to plant one that may have problematic roots, in terms of interfering with my property in the future.

    Thank you in advance.

Hi delectable and welcome to GC. There is an identification area under General Discussion, which is the second block on the main menu. [IMG]

I'm going to get those photos taken and posted as soon as I can. Was going to last night but had already gotten a bit too dark.
