Birds, birds, birds. Tweet tweet squark squark. Never realised how noisy they are.

They are sending me looping - constantly swooping down. I have windmills and other spinny / flappy things around pots to 'scare' them.

My question is, do I continue in the vain - noises, movement etc or shall I set up a bird table and try and agree with the feathered invaders that their food is on the table and that veg, salad, fruit seedlings/plants are off limits? Seriously would this work or just encourage more birds?

Personally i like having the birds around. I provide them with a birdbath/fresh water and they return the favour by devouring bugs

We have lots of birds, these are fed summer and winter, they obviously will eat anything they regard as good. They do a lot of good and are delightful to watch. My Head Gardner takes wet clay/ soil from the immersed pond pots to build his nest. My Marsh marigolds suffer a little so earlier this week I made up a wet mix and he used it. He builds more than one nest. He also likes my strawberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries, cherries amongst other things, these are later on of course. He and his other feathered friends leave me plenty, if I was inclined I could grow them in a fruit cage. I do hide some Strawberries in the greenhouse.

Prior to GYO fruit and veg I loved the birds - but I hear so many horror stories of people coming back to destroyed fruit and veg patches.

Ah well - I'll make peace with the birds but put up netting etc to make it a bit more difficult.
