    Morning all,
I'm new gardening and instantly fell in love with it.
I have planted 5 holly trees and feed them bone meal every 5 weeks.
Does anyone know how I can turn my holly from being skinny and twig like into a thick denser hedge?

I've attached a photo of my Holly with a photo of what I'm looking to achieve

Hello @Retro_Popcorn and welcome to GC forums
      :sign0016:
You will have to wait until they're established in about a year or 2. Then you can start pruning to make them more bushy. I wouldn't keep giving them bonemeal, only use that when planting, they don't need anything else, I've got the same and i don't feed them but you could put down a thick mulch now and in spring, don't put it close to the stem or it can rot it.
Someone else might come along with any other ideas. Enjoy your garden.

        Morning @Logan
So I don't need to do anything else with them now right now?
I've seen I'm getting yellow leaves on one stem.
Do I need to cut this back or leave it alone?

        Thanks again

Morning @Retro_Popcorn that's right but you can cut that one off, sometimes veriegated plants sometimes grow those types of leaves and it's best to cut them out and your welcome.

Hello @Retro_Popcorn put about an inch thick of mulch around them and about a foot away from the stems.
