Thinking of a Cairn Terrier. Might call it Bradley, what do you think?

Why buy a puppy when puppy farming has such a bad reputation when there are so many dogs/pups crying out for a loving home in refuges across the country?

    Cheers, Tony.

They aren't necessarily someone else's problem. If your getting a puppy it won't have any bad habits other than the usual poop on the floor, chew up your shoes, etc. Same probs as if you buy one.

They must have been a problem for somone or they wouldn't have ended up in a dogs home! I'm sure a recovered dog could make an excellent companion for the right people, but not for me thanks.
PS, I use to judge terriers at KC shows.

If you have a specific breed in mind, then splash the cash and go buy one.

Personally, although I do love collies, these days I'd consider any old mongrel that's looking for a home.

My thoughts are the lower the breeding the better the dog.

Cairn's a good choice Robajobs. I've had terriers all my life up until the last few years. I haven't got a dog at the moment and my last one was a Westie, but when I have another one and that's definitely a when, not an if, it will be another Westie, a Cairn or may be a Norfolk terrier. :)

Like yourself it will be a puppy, I've had rescue dogs in the past and they've had some dodgy traits, never again.

We have a cocker spaniel (named floyd!) brilliant member of the family. He's 6 now, and had him since he was 6 weeks old. He's a real foody so was easy to train. They are great dogs, and superb with kids.

Hi Sheal, was considering a Norfolk and contacted a breeder today and she was offering them for £900 for dogS only. She said she had a waiting list her bitch puppies. Wait a long time if she wants £900 off me for a dog!
Like Westies too, but just leaning towards a Cairn. :blue thumb:
