                  Yes I'm really glad I found St Francis. It's more pleasure than work to go there and see the cats. Everyone who works there does it because they enjoy it and not because they are getting paid. It's great to know there are people with big hearts!!

                    Claire, I have to tell you that I could NOT do what you do ... my heart would be broken all the time and I would be in tears as I am a real softie and would take each and every one into my heart ... and I just could not do it ... I'm almost in tears now thinking about it ...

                      Well, I'm a big softie too and I KNOW it's going to kill me when we lose anyone. I know it's coming as there are a number of oldies. They all know they are loved though and that's the most important part. None of them are physically ill, apart from having FIV, which doesn't MAKE them ill. One of them has to be around 17 as he came there in 1996 and he's still doing fine. There are minor health problems, like you would get with your own lovelies but nothing too serious. They are so sweet and friendly and you get mobbed when you walk in. They are NOT caged up either and have quite a good area to roam around including a secure outside area. Plenty of nice places to sleep, climb, and loads of toys. I usually spend about 3 hours there when I go so I have enough time to do the jobs that are required and spend the rest of the time fussing and loving them. It's definitely not a sad place!!
