Oh dear, Garden Sponge - you've got the bug rather badly! Hope you don't get a lap-top and take it to bed with you as the next step - then you know it's terminal...... ;)

Hi, Garden sponge. In a lot of our cases, our other halves think we are mad spending so time time here, both male and female, I might add!

Like you, I'd rather be on here than watching mindless TV programmes!

    Hi GS
My other half is always complaining too! "What do you DO on there" he says but when I tell him to come and have a look he doesn't want to know (I'm glad to say :D ). He's just not interested in technical things and has only just learned how to use the remote on the hifi that we've had for 10 or 12 years  He would much rather spend lots of time in the garden - which is good because somebody has to do it!

GC takes up a lot of my time and I also run my own website so spend lots of time on that, and of course, one has to google now and again to find information or just to see what's on ebay. ;)
As you say LoL, mostly a lot of rubbish on TV at the moment- much more interesting on here isn't it?

    Hi GS,

I think the other half complaing is how it is, mine is no exception.

Strange that she will sit at her computer all weekend playing cards ( given half a chance ) whereas I sneak on for an hour or so, have a larf and learn a bit too, and where possible, maybe teach the "old guys" a thing or two !

Walk tall and take it on the chin. Nice to have you on board.

Is it really only 18 months Pal?
How time flies when one is having fun :D

Being retired I do have more spare time to play
computers than some who have to earn a living.

I'm lucky that both Mr D and I have our own lap-tops, and wireless network connection, so I can be on here while he's setting up his blog about his Big Walk (Dover to Cape Wrath, using only recognised long-distance paths.......) for April - May next year. So he can't complain about the amount of time I spend on here...... :D

I didn't know you were networked as well, Dendro.

I am a computer widow, I was in working days and I still am now ... thing don't change (he was up at 3am to do something on his) so complaints really can't be made! :D

In saying this, he thinks we are all mad that we speak to people "we don't know" ... I was in Human Resources for years ... makes sense to me ... :D :D :D

Hide away in the bedroom???? Interesting!

What, YOU keep one eye on Corrie ...

We both have full-sized computers (is that what you call them?) so we are in different rooms. Have to e-mail each other to speak ... it is only a two-bedroom cottage, not a massive villa! :D

We yell out to each other, LoL - and we've got quite a lot of space to cover...... I often have the lap-top downstairs after dinner in the evenings, but the battery gets low, and Charlie frequently adds to the general hilarity by trying (and succeeding for the most part) to get on my lap while I'm typing..... So I mostly sit up on the minstrel's gallery where I'm plugged into the mains, and no dogs all over the place! :D

Mr D used to have his one set-up in the dining room, directly below the gallery, so we were in the same room, more or less. That was quite handy.... but now he has it set up in the window alcove of our bedroom, which is better for when we want to use the dining table!

We have a handy PC specialist who set up our network, Plant with a Pickaxe! That's his real job - he just comes out to work with me to keep himself fit, to help me, and to earn a bit....
