I decided that it would be a good idea to tidy up the area infront of my shed yesterday...

As you can see - it needed it!! It must have been a good 6 or 7 years ago that I cleared all the original grey gravel, and replaced it with this. However, I reused the old gravel bags - which have annoyed me by poking through ever since!

So yesterday, in one of those "why did I start this" moments, I realised that I should really harvest the compost from the bin first - so it didn't get all over the fresh gravel! Talk about back breaking work - ofcourse, I couldn't just leave the compost in a heap on the lawn - I had to distribute it around the beds and borders!

"Why on earth did I start this":

That done, I lifted the old gravel into trugs, stashing it safely before lifting the old plastic lining and leveling the ground underneath.

Having bought some anti-weed-liner in Poundstretchers last week (LOADS for somethig like £3.49), I was thrilled to find I had more than enough to cover the space, with only one join!

So, back on with the old gravel, a bit of a tidy up around the back, and a couple of bags of pebbles et voila!

I managed to make a ittle pew from one of the triangular tiles which used to sit on our garden walls. It makes for a very secluded place for a quiet cuppa, and the view's alright too:

*obviously I was lying down taking this photo* (ahem)

Now I need to paint the shed!!

I have a honeysuckle and wee clematis clambering up the shed, a self - sown fern nearby and a wormwood in front of the shed, but I would like a couple of other plants in there somewhere! Any suggestions?

Hehehe! Slinky, that makes me feel so at home! Cheers!

Love Lucifer, though think it might be a bit on the large side? If I thought I could keep grasses going from one season to the next, I would give them a go...hmmm

Thanks Daisy, I'm so glad now that it's done! Makes me feel so much better, I want to ask everyone round to see! :D

    My wheelie bin is full!

Should perhaps rename this thread messyheads'! Please feel free to air your clutter! It will make me feel less alone!
