For those who have (most kindly) been asking after me I just wanted to let you know that I am very well, incredibly busy and, as @pete mentioned, taking a break. (I would have replied in the original thread, but it appears to have been locked hence this one).

So, apologies for reinstating the topic via a new thread, but I couldn't see a way around that.

Thank you, Lori. It is both a "good" busy and a little bit of "ooh err, missus!" busy.
At long, long, LONG, last the time is ripe for renovating this ole "van". Months into the planning (we're talking damp proofing, new kitchen, new bathroom, new layout, new electrics - inner and outer - tanking, plumbing, new walls, re-wiring; new glazing/doors, the whole shebang!) and my man-who-can has hit a set-back! Now, having spent months with him in the planning, I'm not yet at the stage where I am cynical about his hiccups. On the contrary, at this point, I think he is genuine (largely swayed by the fact I have yet to make any payment - yes, that even includes his initial site survey dating back to Spring; not to mention the amount of time invested in numerous site visits, going over intricate details etc., ) plus he came as a personal recommendation from a third party. As a limited business, he has also had some setbacks (the cynic would say: oh yeah?) but I feel as confident as I can that it is genuine.

So: the end result is - what should be occurring from Monday is delayed by at least a couple of weeks. The one thing I cannot put the brakes on is the new glazing and doors. However, he has assured me that he will be on site to make that part a smooth transition The rest will fall into place thereafter To be fair, if the glazing and doors go ahead, the other stuff still has time to run so I'm not unduly concerned at this point.

If he fails to turn up in two weeks time ... do look out for a frantic post in "Latest moan .... " LOL!!!!
