    Hi,
spotted a gorgeous Indian Bean tree at the local garden centre covered in its "beans".
I "borrowed" a few of these beans!
I oponed a couple expecting to find beans but it just looked like a stick!!????
Anyone know how to plant these long bean things???

Hey, what's a bit of oponing between friends? :D :D
There's another thread about this tree somewhere Steve - think Royster posted it. Dunno if it says there?

Not sure Steve but I dont think they will grow.
Dont think they ripen here properly, could be wrong.
The seed are those small winged papery like things inside the pod.

I agree with Pete, though am also uncetain. My garden is very sheltered - Jade plants, one happy ginger, Muscat grapes, need no protection because there has been no frost these last 14 years [IMG] and a stonking great Bean Tree. If the seeds were to have sprouted then I feel the seedlings would be all over my garden. But they aren't, so I guess they don't ripen. But maybe they have complicated germination strategies instead.

I dont think there's anything complicated as far as germination is concerned jazid.
I grew some from seed some years back, and I dont remember having any problems, just sowed in the spring and they came up pretty quick as I recall. [IMG]
