Inkharho Rhododendrons - has anyone grown?

    Has anyone tried these ? I am on chalk and would love to have a rhododendron flowering in spring!!!

    Sorry cant help, not tried them, seems they are reasonably new, (I might be wrong), but on the site I looked at they still said they recommended planting with ericaceous compost which sounds a bit defeatest.
    You can only try.

    I seem to remember there are lime tolerant Rhodos, I think mainly bred from American species, but they are limited as far as size and flower colour I think.

    Thanks Pete, yeah I saw that about the ericaceous soil too..seems a bit of a contradiction. I suppose if they were that good then there would be an abundance of them around here (the land of Chalk)..!!! Thanks for responding.

    They are ordinary Rhododendrons that are grafted onto Inkarho rootstocks.They are a bit lime tolerant, but not very much. Not really worth it in my opinion, maybe useful if you are on neutral soil, but not for chalky ground.
