Inserted quotes not accepting pasted text

I normally input my own quote tags in BB Code Editor mode, but when trying to use the quote accessed via the Insert button I cannot paste any copied text between the tags that appear the cursor jumps 2 lines down to middle of line without pasting the text. It used to work before moved to Insert on the last upgrade.

 

Still not working for me. Using Insert then Quote produces tags that I cannot paste in between them and the cursor just jumps out


But if I type both the quote tags myself then I can paste in between them ....

If I use Insert & Quote to produce the tags, delete the closing tag, paste the text, type the closing tag it's OK.

Weird.

 

Been trying some more stuff. I can delete any the characters in the closing tag except the opening square bracket, re-type them and it will not work. (I briefly see the text I'm trying to paste flash on the screen then disappear as the cursor jumps away.

It's only when I delete the whole of the closing tag and re-type it that I'm able to paste in btween the tags.
