How many people do you know that use internet dating agencies?

The OFN (Office for National Statistics) collect the prices for a basket of over 600 services and goods in order to work out the CPI (Consumer Price Index). This is one of the ways the government work out the rate of inflation.

This year they have changed some of the items in that basket and have, for the first time, included the cost of subscribing to an internet dating agency

I wonder how many other items in that basket are exactly what I spend my money on!!! :heehee:

    Not used it yet.

Just trying to picture the advert.

Male, late 40s. Obsessive about growing own food & stocking pantry with home grown preserves.
Mad about forraging & fishing. Likes a drink but prefers to brew own wine for 35p a bottle.
Will not spend a penny on heating or hot water if I can produce it for nothing.
Interests include everything except country & western music.

WLTM Lady who doesn't think the floor is a litter bin.

Bit of a non starter really:DOH:

    Ziggy,

I put a great deal of thought into finding someone compatible for you. I know you are into hats and she has a very good line in homemade ones.

You may prefer them at this stage

but for posh wear you could have the finished article

Just let me know and, for a small fee, I can make the arrangements. :thumb:

     Aww shiney...!!!

The one & only person I know who used it was totally frightened by the matches to start with but I sat with him & we honed his profile & wants................................. It became obvious there were people out there... He was 80 & now thy have the most happy relationshipo, but..... Still live in their own houses & are very happy......

He has now got the most wonderful friend & partner for all his outings as has she, but they have decided to keep it at that & now two very elderly people have a friend to share concerts etc with & they both love the friendship they have & with no pressures, yet they are not alone after losing their life partners, so I think you have to be specific or prepared to trawl through all their matches, but I do have a friend & to say who he is happy is an understatement.... He tried hard to be secure a relationship without pressure & he found it happiness was not that difficult if you join in is what he found, but do not look deeply, but for what you want now, like your lifelong partner & you thought, was thinking is his thoughts anyway...........!!!!!!

Well that is what it has taught me anyway....

A friend of mine, who is a handsome lad but is shy around ladies, had no success at all with the womenfolk of town, and at age 29 he decided to try a different approach.

He joined an internet dating forum, became an elite jet fighter pilot and special ops PT instructor, and lo and behold, he had a constant string of dates.

In 1994/5 a friend I worked with at Hozelock some years before who had never been married but had had a long-term relationship, joined various dating agencies with no successes. Then he met a lovely lady and they have been together at least 15 years now and are married and have grandchildren by her son and daughter who were mid teens when we met them. They and various members of the family (both immediate and in-laws) come to Portugal once or twice a year to visit us. To meet them you would not think they were a match ... but it was definitely a 'marriage made in heaven on the net'. :dbgrtmb:
