Perhaps not everybody knows that you can connect to your existing Internet source free - not only with more than one computer/laptop, but also with your smart phone. Will work as long as the device is used inside the house or in the garden (approx 10 metres range).

But only if it is new enough to be wifi enabled, and you use a wireless router for your internet, and its enabled, and you put your wifi key into your phone.

with my samsung mini I went into
      >settings
      >wireless and networks
      >tick wifi and network notification
wait until the avaiable networks show underneath

click on the one you recognize
enter the password/passphrase which likely will be on a sticker on the wireless modem(i think they would give you a new free modem if you have an old one-no key needed in this case)

I had trouble connecting my iPhone to the Internet on the house. I phoned 3 to ask them about it and was told it was because the Internet provider was orange and wouldn't allow the connection or some rubbish. So I told 3. I was going back to orange and they have cut my bill by £20 a month and given unlimited Internet use. Costs me £13 a month now for all my calls texts and Internet. Happy days.

I use our virgin media WiFi on my 3 phone all the time here at home. Much faster and more reliable than the internet connection I have from 3.

Hmm looks like they spun you a lot of crap rustyroots good to see it backfired on them, there's absolutely no chance of there being a block in place from Orange on your router

If you have broadband at home, check over the small print again as well. People like BT give you free connection to other peoples wifi via a system called BTopenzone as part of the package. With the aid of an app on the phone you can automatically connect to the internet when out and about if you are in range of somebody elses router.
