Hi bromie and welcome to GC. I usually browse through the many many sellers on eBay is I'm looking for a treat for me or Boss lady. For some you have to have a Paypal account but others will take cheques - and there is always loads of choice.

    Hello Bromie
As John said Ebay is incredible for plants and seeds, just make sure you look at the postage costs as well as the plant cost. Also review the sellers feedback for any negative comments. If you are buying a few plants , Thomson and Morgan and Nickys seeds are worth looking at.
And dont expect a fully flowered shrub to arrive in the post - some items I have received looked like dead twigs - but ,apart from one Magnolia , have all done O.K.
    Hope this helps.

No problems buying plants/seeds/offsets from Ebay, there is so much choice and not just in the UK.

This arrived today from Futureprimitive plants, only ordered last saturday, although it was repotted on arrival. It had been divided from a larger plant but had plenty of roots. The three Agapanthus were small but very healthy and had masses of new roots too. An excellent catalogue was included. [IMG]

I have just ordered some ferns from Boxtrees nursery.
    www.cottage-garden-plants.co.uk

Their prices seem good and they dont charge for postage. They also sell on ebay but i think its cheaper to go direct.
I will let you know what they are like when i get them
    Hope this helps

I like Ebay as well, especially if they are coming from another garden rather than a nursery. I just like the idea! [IMG]

Crocus isn't cheap, but their site is incredibly informative and any plants I have got from them have been A++ for quality. It is a set £5 delivery charge regardless of how much you order.

Beth Chatto is very good as well, with a fabulous choice.

Great thread, after reading this I have just ordered £100 plants from ebay and crocus - I hope they are all okay.

I like wandering around garden centres but this way I an look up the plant on the net, make sure it will suit the conditions etc so it is a bit less random than my garden centre shopping. I like the way crocus gives you two or three suggestions of plants that it goes well with. When you are a novice like me that is helpful.

Goodness I have spent abut £300 on my garden already this year, I dread to think what it will mount up to by the end of summer!

Ah well it keeps me out of trouble xx

Never mind Ellie. I have spent nearer Ã?£3,000 if you include the g.house and the picnic area. Now I start spending on plants (unless the council has a better selection than usual.) [IMG] [IMG]

Ellie - I'm glad someone else just has too! I have just bought a Rose of Jericho and a Chilean Wine Palm from Minor Garden on eBay. My husband has been messaging me to step away from the computer and put the PayPal account down!
