Hi this is janlee from Taunton in Somerset. The one thing I have always wanted is a garden of my own. When Garry and I bought this house in 2000 it came with a patch of waste ground front and back and so the big "makeover" began. A daunting task as I had never actually done any gardening in my life and knew even less about it. With the help of books and the internet I spent every spare moment on the task (interupted only by a triple Heart bypass operation)and by spring next year it should be complete. Wish I'd found this forum earlier I might not have made so many mistakes on the way.

Hi Janlee and Welcome to GC.Sorry to hear of your health problems and hope you will soon be back to full health [IMG]

You will find all the help you need on here so any questions you have please fire away.

Mr Kandy has an Uncle who lives In Isle Abbotts which I believe isn't too far away from Taunton.

The Somerset levels are a lovely part of Somerset

Hi Janlee. If you've had a thb then do take it steady. Make sure that Garry does all the heavy stuff. But that said I know loads of people that have had the op and really no problem as long as you don't do anything daft. Just enjoy yourself, and when you start to feel tired, stop.

Oh and welcome to GC by the way. :D

Hi Janlee it's always nice to welcome a new member into the ranks.

As you can see from all your replies we are a very friendly (slightly nosey) bunch who just love helping each other out and looking at pictures of each other's patches.

Doing a garden 'make over' is brilliant fun but such hard work as well but once done is the ideal place to relax in when the weather permits especially while recovering from health issues.

Enjoy yourself and like the guys and girls have already said if your able to I also would like to see your plot.
    Helen.xxx.

Thanks for all your welcome messages.
I have been very fit and well since the op and have done all the work myself except the heavy lifting. Bit of a technophobe but will post some pictures when I work out how to do it!!!
Yes Isle Abbotts is very close to Taunton
