will not be next year .... it will be within days/weeks

I've been following this on a few conspiracy sites ... there has been a large buildup of US aircarriers and the UK has sent it's best one aswell

On one conspiracy site, a guy posted from Canada last night, and he said that he and his platoon have been told to pack as they will be on their way there within a day or two

It will not be a walk in the park this time .... Iran is not Iraq or afghanistan and Russia and china may back them

The US has no business there .... Iran has not been in a war for hundreds of years .... They have no nuclear bombs ... they have oil

Israel on the other hand always seems to be in the thick of things .... they refuse to let international weapons inspectors to check and inspect their arsenal of nuclear bombs which some say total over 200? .... Yet they complain if Iran wants to use nuclear powerstations?

    WWIII?

I know that the British forces regularly go all over the world, on exercises, training missions, protecting oil rigs, intercepting drug smugglers, peace keeping, and when required, just being ready just in case.

A few years ago, I was quite surprised to see that WW3 appeared to have broken out just off the coast at redcar. I'm not exaggerating, there were war ships, a big Nimrod thing flying circles overhead, fighter jets flying about and all sorts. To my untrained eye, it looked to me like there was enough firepower either in the air or on the sea about 5 miles out to take on quite a formidable force. I'm fairly sure they were just practising.

Also years ago, about 20 years ago, I knew various lads that were in various forces. They all had stories of being recalled at no notice, and one lad, who lived in a submarine when on duty, got recalled at no notice and spent several months away. He later told us they'd been following a Russian sub. He might have been telling the truth. He might have been lying, because he knew that we'd speculate unless he gave us something, and he might not have been able to tell us the truth because it might have been slightly sensitive.

The point is, we can't draw conclusions based on the word of someone on the interweb. We can't even draw conclusions based on official reports that there is a convergence of capability in a particular area. The chap who claimed his platoon is off being mobilised wouldn't want to publish any detail if he was genuine. Think about it, if it was your squad, would you want your enemy to know anything?

Britain isn't going to attack Iran this year. The US might, if they're leadership is incredibly, mindblowingly stupid, and I don't think even Bush was quite that daft. Obama is much smarter. Leaders in both UK and US know that they can't afford another full blown war. Both parties would have to massively ramp up their capability, something I have no doubt at all they can if necessary, but it would literally break the bank on both sides.

Just keep an eye on the telly. Every time Britain has prepared for war in my life time, there has been a massive recruitment campaign for the military for months beforehand. I haven't noticed any this time.

Dim, conspiracy sites don`t deal in facts, just conspiracies. For a start, as far as I am aware the UK no longer HAS an aircraft carrier, the last one, Ark Royal, has been sent to the scrapyard. Also, I think Canada has a non invasion policy? They tend to go in as UN peacekeepers, though I could very well be wrong. Also, I believe, Iran has never been accused by the UK or the US of having a nuclear stockpile, only of TRYING to develope a nuclear warhead.

(The fall of Iraq and Libya has been attributed to their abondoning of the US dollar. Now it begins.)

In what appears as swift retaliation by Iran against U.S.-led economic sanctions imposed on the Persian Gulf state, suddenly Iran says it will no longer accept the U.S. dollar as payment for its oil shipments to India, Japan and China.

In addition, bilateral trade between Iran and Russia will break from the dollar for settlement in favor of Iranian rial and Russian rubles, according to Iran’s state-run Fars news agency.

But unlike a similarly bold move taken on Oct. 30, 2000, (effective Nov. 6) by Saddam Hussein to rid Iraq of the U.S. dollar as payment for Iraqi oil, Iran asserts the new arrangement to drop the dollar was Russia’s idea.
