    Hi I'm new to this so please bear with me.
    I am new to this plant and wondered if anyone is able to advise me on cultivation. Thanks

    You chose a difficult plant to ask about. It is Iris ibirica ssp. elegantissima.It comes from an area where it gets rain in Spring and Autumn but for the Summer, no rain at all. The winters in its native areas tend to be mild and dry too. The compost should be very free draining. Try your local Alpine Garden Society for more detailed help. I am sure there are members of that group who grow and show your iris. Good luck with it.
