    Hi All,
I have iron sulphate, usually used in a watering can, but i have to fill it to many times it gets very tedious.

If i use a pressure sprayer, i believe i have to use less water thus less refilling..

My issue is the mix ratio.. The product was used at 5g per L in watering can.
That covered 5m2 (watering can and sprayer hold this much water)

So if i filled the spray with 5L do i use the same iron, but do more area - i suspect not?

    What am i missing here..

    Thanks!

Same amount of water and iron sulphate in either the watering can or sprayer will cover the same area at the same dosage rate (g of iron sulphate/m2 of grass) The sprayer gives better coverage due to the finer droplets.

So i was over complicating it? I assumed as less water was coming out, the grams should be increased.

If im wrong, im wrong :)

No it’s different, you need to work out the volume per min, width of spray and speed of travel in conjunction with the amount stated on the product.
You will use less via a sprayer as it’s the nature of watering cans to use more than required, but you need a course nozzle. Iron though can have a variable rate depending on its use.

I would not be applying iron in the weather we are having at the moment either. Way too hot and dry.

@SteveS Sorry I over simplified the matter. Definitely go with Liz the pot's advice.

you were not far off to be honest, what tends to happen is many use more water in a knapsack to penetrate the moss so the ratio is adjusted. Iron is not too bad when it comes to ratio and application.
I should have worded my reply slightly different also as not to confuse the answer.
