I think one or two of us have had a drink tonight and might be amusing ourselves with responses to serious subjects:)

Ants are communist. As are bees and wasps. They all work hard at their allotted jobs, and give their lives willingly if necessary, for the greater good. Each individual is tiny, and seemingly worthless.

Bears, lions and humans are capitalists. Each will seek to attain the greatest share of what's on offer, and will fight to look after its self. Very occasionally two will tolerate each other's existence, if it seems beneficial to them at the time. Each is independent, powerful, fearsome.

If a swarm of bees collectively decide to attack a herd of humans, the humans had better run, because although one human against one bee is a foregone conclusion, most of the humans will be running away, scattering to save themselves, whereas the bees will act as one entity. If one bee gets squashed, it means nothing to the swarm.

When the (now) wife and I first took on our first rented pad, furnished with my portal telly and a sofa we bought for a tenner, we had a serious chat about our future. Forcing a straight face, I said to her "you know it means we're an item now, whatever each of us does will directly affect the other.... are you sure you are ok with the idea that what's yours is mine and what's mine is mine?".

She thought about it for a good few moments, and then answered seriously "yes".

          I won there then:dbgrtmb:

Hydrogen, most philosophies/political ideologies would work well in isolation. Unfortunately, they don't stand up well to having people involved :heehee:

The, linked, short stories in the science fiction novel, The Great Explosion (1962) by Eric Frank Russell, is a humorous example of leaving ideas in isolation. I had a quick look on Amazon to see whether it's available - it ranged from £18 to £184 :rolleyespink:. Maybe I should sell my copy

The UK is a good example of capitalism where the vast majority of people work for very little and pay taxes so that a few very rich people don't need to lift a finger. Every few years the lower classes vote to change these very rich people to another group of very rich people who all went to the same public schools.

This is very different to communism in say North Korea where a small group of very rich people force the vast majority of people to work for very little. Every few years the very rich person at the top dies and is replaced with another very rich person who happens to be his son, therefore no vote is necessary.

George Orwell's Animal Farm is a good read too, as organicgrowshop says human greed dooms them all.
