Is compost enough?

    Hi all.

    I plan to plant Buxus sempervirens, a yucca and ornamental grass in a gravel flower bed. Being very new to this... Is compost all I need to keep the above thriving?

    The yucca I plan to Bury in its pot to restrict growth... I do know this may lead to health issues/reduced life... But I need to keep it relatively small, I assume I'd be best to repot this in fresh compost?

    Thanks for the advice and sorry for the stupid questions!
