Never tried it before and just want to use something that isn't harmful to anything other than the aphids.

No idea of the dilution either, I don't want the rose plants to look like they have just been pulled out of the dishwasher. :)

Other 'organic' solutions to the greenfly/aphids problem are most welcome. I only suggest Fairy Liquid as it's something that I have.

    Thanks.

Perfect on all plants (and to get rid of ants). I just use a squirt in a normal bottle.

Quite a lot of people use diluted Fairy Liquid but, of course, we can't recommend you use an unlicensed insecticide. :th scifD36: :)

I've read that some of the harsher liquid soaps can do harm, so I use non perfumed stergene, it's pure soap no additives.

Fairy contains quite a lot of harsh chemicals to remove burned-on food etc, so I use shower gel rather then Fairy.
Whichever you use you only need about 4-5 little drops in 1/2 litre of water.
It's not the detergent that does the damage to the aphids. The detergent just breaks the surface tension of plain water which is what helps shift them.
