Is it too early to aerate?

    Is it too early to aerate the lawn? If the soil is soft enough why should it not be done now?

    IF the soil is too soft then you might cause it to compress or compact more as you walk on it to aerate it.
    Also if you are talking about lawns then it's usually best to only walk on the grass during its main growning season (late march- nov) as any damage you cause can be self repaired.

    Did mine this morning, took advantage of a dry spell.

    Fine to aerate now as long as it's not too soggy.
