Is it too late to buy Chrysanthemum plants?

We had some really lovely dark red chrysanths at our previous address and meant to take some with us but there was too much else to think about at the time so we forgot. Don't even know what the name is - anybody know please?

Is it ok to buy plugs if I can find any or is it best to buy more mature plant?

I have no idea what that particular one is, but I usually see mature chrysanthemums in garden centres at this time of year.

Is this the same as yours?

Five Alarm Red Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum  'Five Alarm Red') At Sun Valley Garden Center In Eden Prairie, Minnesota

I just googled 'red chyranthemum' in the google images search. There are loads, but only a few with black centres, the nearest match I could see is apparently called 'Five Alarm Red'.

It's not too late to buy them, or plant them.

Look at this site, it's a place i buy from regularly and their goods and customer service are second to none ......

        Hi jjordie,
Depending if you want to grow Chrysanthemums as sprays (your photo looks like a spray) or you can grow larger flowers on your plants ..These are best purchased in the spring as rooted cuttings from specialist Chrysanthemum nurseries if you have facilities to pot up and grow on ,or you could find them as plants in some garden centres ready to plant out in late spring . Once you have your plants they will then flower in late summer /autumn and you can then keep them year to year ..
        Hope this helps ..

        Dave
