    Hi

I relaid my lawn 5 months ago and it's coming on quite well (aprt from 2 patches which seem to grow twice as fast and are twice as green as the rest).

It could do with a trim but I haven't good a day when it's been dry enough, is it OK to leave it now until spring ?

If I do or don't cut, what should I do to help it through the winter ?

    Thanks

Are you saying it hasn't been cut in 5 months and want to wait until next year? Either way, I'd definitely give it a trim now and keep it trimmed over winter. With the milder winters we've been having it will continue to grow albeit slower than in the warmer months. If you have a rotary mower then wait until its as dry as possible but don't get too fixated on it being damp, you can still cut it wet.
You can give it an autumn feed to help it through the winter but if it's only been down 5 months then you might be better off leaving the feed to spring.

Hi Colint My advice is that you can mow the grass,(I always use a R.C.D for safety)
Residual-Current Device I rarely cut wet grass but only because wet Grass clogs and tears easily and you tend to get mud were you have walked:cool: If I have to I usually just drag the Hosepipe in a semi circle over the lawn which takes a lot of the water off the Surface,Hope this as been of some help:):thumb:

Definately cut it (high ish setting).

As a contractor i cut grass 12 months of the year mind you I use an industrial mower so it never clogs even mowing in torential rain.

I mowed the grass today around the kitchen garden, where the pumpkins were sprawling, so it has not been cut there in perhaps 3 months. Very tall grass!!! It is not terribly pretty, but it will serve. I a few days it will look decent enough, it is not so terribly cold as to stop growth!
