Hello, I'm new to this forum and hope someone will be able to advise me.
We have a relatively small lawn which at the moment is uneven and covered in moss. We plan to raise & level it and lay rolls of grass next Spring but should I prepare the soil before winter, is there anything else I should do this Autumn, or should I just leave it and wait 'till we start the work next Spring?
    Many thanks
    Sue

Sue, if you want a decent lawn, then yes, prepare the soil now. The work you put in now will reward you a hundredfold next summer. When you have your lush new lawn.:thumb::D

    Hi

I think you need to identify why your existing lawn is covered in moss and is uneven.

Moss is generally related to bad drainage, shade or both. Will what you are intending to do solve the problem?

Personally id sort it now, spray off the old, with roundup leave 2 weeks for it to work, Hire a cultivator and turn it all over, rake then add your topsoil, leave a fortnight to settle then ree rake and turf.
