It certianly looks dead - recently happended as i put some mesh down a round it and covered with pebbles. However the mesh was 8 layers depp and it seems the water has just been running off the mesh. I cut the mesh back and watered with tomato feed yesterday.

What im wondering is is there any chance it will come back or dhall i plant a new one?

Well I think it's a case of "only time will tell" you could dig up the root and see if there is any life left in it.I'm not sure about giving it fertiliser though,it won't need feeding if it's not growing.

If you used mesh ( netting ) why didn`t the water drain through? And why use 8 layers? Any chance of some pics so we can see the problem? It may be suffering from Clematis wilt so the pics would be a great help.:thumb:
