The Chinese, Japanese, Hindus, Tartars, Africans, Eskimo, Persians, Turks, Kurds, Arabs, Polynesians, and many other peoples, are substantially ignorant of the Bible. All the Bible societies of the world have produced only about one hundred and twenty millions of Bibles, and there are about fourteen hundred million people. There are hundreds of languages and tongues in which no Bible has yet been printed. Why did God allow, and why does he still allow, a vast majority of his children to remain in ignorance of his will?â?
As you lose doubt in your own beliefs, as you become sure that you know what God is about, you become susceptible to a slippery slope of decline, where God becomes more important than logic or morality. "If God says it's right, then it must be!".
God might not be what you think it is: God might be a powerful demon..this is just my view and not intended to offend but im really sick of seeing so much doom gloom and war hunger and tragedy...if you dont go to church or have a religion you may still go to heaven ..but where is heaven has anyone ever been,, religion is killing the world:thumb:

Religion is a man-made collection of rules and regulations. As man is faliable then so is man's religion. A belief in God or a god does not neccessarily warrant a standardised form in the way of a religion. I believe in the Biblical God but do not conform to any particular church. Why should I? Why should anyone? The Bible never shows Jesus to be forming a church as such, only ministers who were to spread the teachings.

God's word has spread to all parts of the world through missionaries. If the people these missionaries went to did not accept them then so be it. They have had the opportunity, and missionaries are still out there, still working.

As for heaven? Well, where can ine start? The domain of God. Through space exploration we have been able to see into the past and into the deepest parts of the universe. Still we have not seen God. Now according to the Bible God is so powerful that humans would not be able to survive in his direct presence; hence he had to send his son in his place. It stands to reason that God and heaven would have to exist on another plain of existence, in another dimension so as not to obliterate his creation.

Finally, here's a real head scratcher. The 'church' and common belief of many is that when a Christian dies their soul goes to heaven. But Jesus himself said this was not so.

    John 3:13
"No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man".

This is just my understanding of things, of which I may be totally, totally wrong.

Religion is another weapon men use against each other.

    Religion isn`t faith.

I have been force fed Catholic dogma all my life, yet God was never in any of it.

God was there when my children were born, he/she was also there when my Mum died. But religion never was.

Caused more problems than anything, personal view. I will not give you my belief. That is private. However, to me, any belief that causes harm is wrong. I won't hurt anyone and I don't belive anyone has the right to hurt me. I will help if I can and hope others do the same. Thank God, Allah or whatever your God is called, that people do help each other. We need it in this horrible world just now.

Sorry if I've offended anyone. It is not intentional.

    cheers

    You personally Claire maybe.
But when was god last held in account for an earthquake or a natural disaster, but if someone is saved from that disaster the reply is always "thank god".

Strange, seeing as he caused it in the first place.:)

Back to the original question is religion wrong no I don't think so it's mans interpretation that is wrong,I admire true believers it must be comforting to lie on your death bed and believe that when you finally pass away you may enter the kingdom of heaven. Before christianity Sun worship was prevelant throughout the world in many different cultures which at the time of non enlightenment was probably the right way to go if you think about it was the reason they were alive, these days when we push the boundaries of science we start to wonder what is outside the observable universe and still ask the question is there a god out there.[IMG]
