Sorry about the spelling of budd-what-ever ... A friend of ours says he's got a year round budd(?) ... I must go have a look-see. I'm new to gardening but I've never heard of such a shrub. I know you guys will know ....

I think quite a few are semi-evergreen - particularly Globosa (which has orange round balls, instead of Spikes that are more often associated with Buddleia. Dunno about proper evergreen though.

I have the wild vareity (Buddleja Davidii if I'm not mistaken), although the books say it is not evergreen, I've never seen it lose its leaves. The mother-in-law has two vareities of Buddleja in her garden. I've never seen them lose their leaves neither.

I reckon with Brittany's climate (slightly warmer on average than mid to southern England, and just as wet if what I've read is true), you should be ok with most vareities.

Well, maybe he's right then. I'll have to nip round and have a look! You're right Clueless1 about the Brittany climate ... it's been very wet the past couple of years .. maybe it's the global warming ...
I'll try and find out what variety it is Kristen - the bud's in our garden both lose their leaves each year - I think they're the common purple ones. Lots of butterflies though in summer ......
    Thanks guys!

The Buddleja x Weyeriana that I have keeps it's leaves all year round and looks very lush, whereas my B. Davidii varieties lose most of them. I think it's because it is crossed with B. Globosa.
