This is a shot of some of my front lawn - i nearly dug it up to lay some spare turf earlier but thought i would ask here first: is it dead? I've seen another thread where the advice is water water water, but the next pic shows how some spots are growing fine:

What can i do? That after cut stuff and lawncare is all ****.

    Thanks

Usually, some parts of your lawn will survive hot, dry conditions better than others. The reason for this is that the depth of good soil varies and any big stones, builder's rubbish or gravel patches hidden under your turf will dry out first. Don't worry about it. Those patches usually green up just fine when we get some real heavy rain again.

Agree with flinty. It needs rain and will green up very quickly once we get some.
