Is this Sycamore still alive?

    I would appreciate someone letting me know if the Sycamore pictured (taken today) is alive, dead or will regenerate in another dimension.

    They all look like this in March .. just have to wait a little longer to see if the leaves sprout

      I don't know if it ever produced leaves or blooms.

        Thank you. By what month if it doesn't produce leaves or blooms will I know if it is dead?

        You should be able to see the buds beginning to fatten up over the next few weeks. We will probably be into April before we see much leaf. Most trees are still bare at the moment.

        You also don’t say where you are, there will be a difference between different areas of the country

        It's unlikely to be dead it's a sycamore. When was it planted? Have you ever seen it in leaf?
        Down here, after a mild winter, sycamores are showing signs of growth and I have seedlings sprouting already.

          We all know that it has had leaves on it - it couldn't have grown that tall without photosynthesis
