Some one told me that when Chrysanthemums finish flowering you should dig them up and replant them upside down in the same place and they will come back even stronger. Have anybody hear of this, is it true please?

No! it was my brother-in-law told me he had heard about it somewhere, and he don't have a sence of humour, so he was not winding me up (unless someone was winding him up?). He is trying it out now, I watched him replant one last week.(upside down covering the whole plant and the roots) He told me you only do it to indoor plants that have been grown in pots and want to plant them outdoors. I'll let you know what happens.

Indoor Chrysanths are treated with a growth reducing chemical and when planted out in the garden, either right way or upside down, the plant reacts by growing to much greater size than normal. The flowers are often much reduced in size too.
Certainly when I worked for a Chrysanth growerI cannot remember him planting the stools upside down. He did dig them up from out doors and bring them into his heated green houses in late winter. This encouraged them to produce new shoots which he took as cuttings to be grown on, either for sale or for his own stock and cut flowers etc. The old stools were then discarded.
