Isabel de Torres Botanical Gardens - Dominican Republic

We have recently returned from a holiday in the Dominican Republic, staying about 8km from Puerto Plata.

Just on the outskirts of Puerto Plata is the Isabel de Torres Botanical Gardens, situated on top of a mountain. The best way up is by cable car, which took about a ten minute trip.

We ascended in mists, and the first couple of hours in the gardens were extremely atmospheric, although the sun did break though later on.

On reaching the summit you are greated by a smaller version of Rio's famous Christ statue.

Beautiful place Gaz, very green, I would be in Bromeliad heaven there.
