Had a go at photographing the international space station (iss) as it passed over last night the first shot is on maximum zoom and clearly picks up the shake in the tripod, the second shot is half zoom doesn't show the shake as much. The International Space Station's solar arrays are the largest deployable space assemblies ever built. On March 20th, astronauts unfurled a pair on the starboard side of the outpost, adding more than 8000 sq. feet of light-collecting surface area to the station's profile, this now makes it the second brightest object in the night sky why not have a go at photographing it .

Excellent pics. When I saw the first one I thought the the astronauts must have been on the pop:) Then I read about the tripod shake.

Last chance tonight to see the two as discovery lands tomorrow,Starting in the west at 18:52 and finishing east south east at 18:58 there may be slight variations in these times they are calculated for my location.

Thee are excellent photos - I didn't realize the Space Station was SO obvious in the night sky. I must admit to often looking up at the sky at night but I have never seen anything like the images Nut and Cap have shown. Amazing. What time and which direction should one look, fellas?

    Kath :)

Looking at the sky at this time we may have a sighting tonight.
As walnut says starting at 18:52 from the West. 270`
    travelling towards the east.
You only have about four minutes before it disappears over the horizon.
    Good luck

Remember. unless you have zoom eyes all you will see is a light moving across the sky.
I have thought of using my telescope but I reckon it would be very difficult to find with the magnifications I have, and I dont fancy holding it my hands !
