.....I was walking past a house today and admiring a magnificent Magnolia tree in the front garden, it was a fantastic specimen and covered in buds and believe it or not one of the buds was very advanced and showing some colour, looking like it was about to break open!!!, some 6-8 weeks early. Nature is really amazing sometimes, a little taster of spring...:dancy: :)

You know Spring is on the way when Magnolias are in bud. They're been in bud for a while here, but they tend to do that then wait until around March to break open. In fact there were buds on mag trees in December, but they do seem to have excellent ability to keep their buds for a while without them falling off, or rotting.

Magnolia opposite me has been pruned to an inch of it's life after a nosy neighbour whined it dropped too many leaves.

I adore Magnolias, so spectacular when in full bloom.

I was called out to an RTC this afternoon, and whilst waiting for the usual procedure to evolve, I found myself garden browsing - and in one of them, there was a whole host of daffodils in full bloom and looking lovely. That, with the nice warm sun on my back sure felt good.

Just back from Texas and visited a botanical garden in Fort Worth. Nothing terribly exciting except for ENORMOUS Magnolia Grandiflora which must have been at least 75ft tall. Not flowering atm but still wonderful specimens to see.
