My ex, and a few colleagues, are always getting wound up because I always get discounts due to my complaining. I don't know why it winds them up. Probably because they either don't try and regret it, or they try and can't pull it off.
I just had a renewal contract through, and the company had increased the premium by £4 a month, like they do. All it took was a bit of moaning and saying how out of order they were, to save myself £30 over this coming year :)
They did still increase it, but by only a small amount, which I don't mind at all. Inflation etc.
I have also done it on my tv, broadband etc, purely because they ask too much in my opinion, for what I receive. God knows how much I saved on that one, but it is quite a lot.
Also got car insurance discounted this year :) and my pussy insurance was reduced because they were asking too much so I complained.
I don't think British people complain enough (providing its justified). I don't complain about gas and electric for example, because I think the price I pay is reasonable, or maybe manageable.
Do you guys and gals complain about your bills and get reductions? Just wondering.
Maybe you too will slate me :help: :snork:
You can just give an opinion if you like.

I complain the whole time...Last month my renewal Buildings and contents insurance came through the letterbox and it said my premiums would be going up from £30 to £35 a month so phoned them up and said cancel my policy please..They said is their any reason why you want to cancel..I said i have not made any claims on my policy ever and you want to put my premiums up...So they said since you have been a loyal customer we can reduce your premiums with NO changes to your policy...I am now paying £26 a month:)

            :heehee:
I told them I wanted Tv basic pack, anytime phone, and 40+ mbps fibre optic. They quoted too much, and ended up asking how much I wanted to pay. I said the same as I was paying BT for fibre, and phone. (I had freeview tv :) ). They agreed , so now I get the tv for free and a hd+ box . Not as good as your achievement, but still a good saving :)

Don't have a problem with people complaining but similarly I don't get why anyone would be peeved with you about it.

I recently complained and "handed in my notice" with Virgin for charging £28 for just broadband. Cut a long story short, I'm now only paying £19 :yahoo:

People are strange! One of them is the same person who use to take it out on me, because there was always a job waiting for me when I got to work, and she had to wait for the supervisor to get her one. I said 'it's nothing to do with me, complain to the supervisor', but she just kept taking it out on me. Eventually one of the more mature ladies had a go at her and backed me up, and she backed off :) Crazy!

Ok, just be a little bit cautious of what those reduced "rates" cover ;)

For example, I've just left employment where I was selling a product. The price I was quoting was the real McCoy. Customers may not have wanted to pay that amount (fair enough!) so I was then able to offer them a "discounted" price. They leapt at it and walked away thinking they had out done the business and had a great bargain.

                  But! Did they? Really? ;)

I worked for a commercial enterprise: they don't *give* anything away for free. Those discounted prices? Simply means you were having something taken OFF. Check your contract NG .. you may not know it, but I bet there is something in that contract which is not precisely what you had before ;)

As for complaining: I tend not to complain for inflation related price increases - rather than complain, I shop around.

I reserve my complaints for when I have a genuine complaint!

Yep, your last 2 lines are exactly as I said :blue thumb:
Tonight they said I will have exactly the same cover. I was given options, like increased excess, but I said thats just as bad. I said an inflation rise is fine, but not an over inflated one.
As for my house and contents, my new bank said bring in the policy, we will beat it. He was shocked at how little I pay, and said the cover is brilliant. It has to be to satisfy my mortgage provider!
Gas and electric....well, no catches there, and Sky has been fine. Broadband good, and phone bill cheap enough :)
No changes on pussy insurance either. Standard terms and conditions policy booklet :blue thumb:
