    Very sad, Paula.

    I'm surprised there aren't more nasty scooter accidents in Italy. It's not unusual to see two people, along with assorted household belongings, weaving in and out of the traffic on a Vespa. Part of me kind of admires this. Italians aren't the sort to let little things like health and safety get in the way of their fun. But sometimes I have winced after watching a particularly dangerous manoeuvre.

    There are, only there are so many it only the newsworthy that get news space

    Like you have seen, it is not uncommon to see young guy's with two lady passengers sitting side saddle, with two kids standing on the floor, weaving in and out of fast traffic in Napoli, negative crash helmets "Entusiasta"
