most of Italy right now is submerged by snow and temperature like -7 -10
In some places it hasn't stop snowing for 24 hours.

A lot of tiny villages are completely isolated, no water, no electricity, especially in the south where snow used to be such a rare event (but not any more...) and that also pushes wolves which usually live in the woods at higher altitudes to come and look for food near houses.

sad to see people suffer like that and this came totally unexpected .... everyone thought thet we were going to have an extremely mild winter this year and many thought that spring would be here early

lots of plants there will be frizzled .... sadly, many of the exotics such as Chamaerops humilis palms may be gone ... I also think many olive trees will take a knock

I took a look at the met charts yesterday and noticed that the plunge of cold air was going right down to Sicily, N Africa and a large part of Eastern Spain.
It looks set to stick around there until mid week.

I'm hoping we get a bit less cold after tonight, reached down to minus 8C here last night.
