    Hi Folks,

I wonder if any of you can help with this little mystery...

Last year I found a small weedy looking plant in a pot that i was going to pull out and throw on the compost. But I had a change of heart and I left it to see what it would do.

It turned into a lovely flowering little plant but I can't for the life of me work out what it is!

Any ideas? Because I want to buy some seeds and grow some more! I should have collected seeds from it but I moved and didn't take it with me...

    TIA

    Steve

Yup Steve I believe it's Limnanthes Douglasii, the poached egg plant. Bees and butterflies love it. It's a bit invasive and if you want to know why it's called a poached egg plant just look at the flowers.

    Hi John,

thanks for the reply but I don't think it is (or was!). I've just had a chance occurance with Feverfew whilst planning my herb garden for next year, and although the flowers aren't quite diasy like enough, it's a lot closer than the fried egg plant. I've ordered some seed so i'll let you know.

    Thanks for your help though...

    Steve

Similarities to feverfew but those flowers look double and feverfew tend to be more daisy like. I might be wrong though (often am)

It`s not feverfew-I can pretty much guarantee that one.

Feverfew leaves are very stronlgy aromatic-they smell-to me-like sage leaves.

sorry, but the plants long gone or else i'd of sent you some seeds! the leaves were very fragrant. kind of like fennel but maybe with some coriander! i've found lots of different pictures on google too.

I'll try some golden feverfew as well so i can do a comparison...
