So, you planted it in the ground, did you?

Well, I'm not sure but I dont think it will over winter outside, so, I think I would pot it up pretty soon now, so that it can get dryed off a bit before winter, cut a few leaves off if nesessary and put it somewhere frost free.
Dont put it in the shed too early though, you dont want it trying to grow in there

Daz, before you dig it up give it a good soaking the night before to reduce the shock of transplant to the plant. David.

I would be inclined to do it once the nights start to get cold, don`t let it go into the frosts.

I'm a little bit unsure about the watering thing David.
At this time of the year we are trying to force these plants into a dormant state, two things can make them dormant, the cold or lack of water.
The cold combined with water, plus broken roots spells rot, to me.
So I think that once potted up a slow drying process would be best, to nearly but not quite bone dry in the coldest months.

But I could be wrong. [IMG]

Has anybody asked what sort of musa this is? I have had a red basjoo outside for two years. In the ground. Loads of fleece and hessian from end of October. No prob. And I am 80 miles north of D&D. Depends on your micro-climate.
