    Came across this small tree/shrub recently, it was almost rotted through, but some "kind" soul had wired up the trunk a few years ago, in an attempt to hold it together.

    Any ideas as to what it may be.

    The black berries are multi seeded.

    I think that it's one of the dogwoods, Cornus
