IVY Grrrr

I have spent the morning removing ivy from my fence that is coming through from the nieghbours. I can't dig it out as its not my side. Question is : Is there anything I can do to stop this or do I have a lifetime of removing it everytime it pokes through? It is along a fence where I want to dig a bed and I am worried it will take over the bed.

 

Best course of action really would be to politely discuss it with your nieghbours. If like mine, they're complete numpties then you'll have to clear it every so often.
The lady who lives at the back of me hasn't tended her garden in years and has several trees over 25 feet high. Branches overhang my garden and every year I have to climb a ladder and chainsaw them off! Keeps me fit I suppose.
