About 20 years ago I was given an ivy my mum had in a hanging basket purchased from Marks & Spenser's. Did not want it indoors so planted it out on the garage wall expecting it to wither & die,it did not.
Had no problem with the climber all these years and never fuss with it. I noticed today that a lot of leaves have gone black and wrinkled like they have been burnt or scorched.Mostly are at the top but a few down the sides. The top is pruned flat but not pruned it for a few months so cannot see how pruning has caused it.We have pruned the top like this for years and never any problems. We have had a few days of mild frost but it has gone through - double figures with no problem so cannot really see how frost has affected it.
Maybe it is now getting old or needs extra feeding or maybe on its way out.

The passion flower next to it is ok but those leave although look healthy are going curly. Maybe they also need feeding or spraying with some bug spray. Both climbers are a haven for snails but just cannot get to them until they have a race along garage fascia board after it has rained.
