There are lots at Leeds Castle, just down the road from me. They have become quite tame and will pinch scraps from outdoor tables. People tend to offer the peacocks bits of bread, because they look so pretty. But the jackdaws are much smarter, and usually find a way of beating them to the food ...

I have Jackdaws round about me and they visit the garden occasionally.
Last year they ripped strips off my garden fleece and stuffed it down my neighbors chimney for nesting material. It cost her a few pounds to get that sorted out.

:). Last year - I think it was on 'Springwatch' - there was some lovely footage of a crow ripping out all those little scalloped edging things people put on borders, one by one. It seemed as though he was doing it just for the hell of it ...

yes you can laugh RandyRos.. We were quite amused. My neighbor wasn't so happy.

Jackdaws are interesting birds. If you want a light read about them and their habits try
Konrad Lorenz - King Solomons Ring - Chapter - The Old Retainers.
I don't believe all he says but it's a good read about Jackdaws, and other animals.
