    Hi

I have a lovely Jasmine humile in my new garden, however its in a ridculous place stuck at the back behind an enormous budlejia. Of course I have no idea how old it is, but its about a metre high and the base stem is about 3 to 3.5 cm in diameter.

I would like to move it to a postion where I can actually see it! Would it be possible to dig it up and move it? If so, should I take some cuttings as an 'insurance policy' and if so how?!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is that the summer flowering yellow one?

I've never moved one... so I don't know. but have a look around the base, there might be some already rooted stems , usually if a jasmine branch touches the ground it will root.

If not .. take some of the lower stems, pull them down to groung level, jiggle over the soil with a hand fork, pin down the stem with a bit of bent wire, cover with a wee bit of loose soil and a brick.. wait til spring, they should have rooted.

I'd also wait til spring to move the big plant, try to get as big a root ball as you can!

Thanks. Yes it is the yellow summer flowering one, its a beautiful looking plant.

None of the branches touch the floor, but I will try rooting a few of the lower stems and wait until spring. If in the end I decide to leave it where it is, and remove the budleija I will have a couple of new plants to put elsewhere!

Buddleias go ever so easily from cuttings, but don't move well!
